Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. The word picture behind "and I will dwell" is "to have a house".
Exodus 20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house.... In English we consider the word "covet" as having negative connotations. Whereas in Hebrew the meaning is more positive: "take pleasure in, delight in". It all comes down to the question: where is my focus? Do I daily take pleasure in and delight in the house, home and family that I have, or am I always directing my pleasure and delight towards the house, home and family that someone else has? Blessings!!!

Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. The word picture behind "of my life" is "place of the hand".
This picture speaks of the work of God's hand which creates the environment for the work of our hands. God is passionate about protecting your unique God given purpose, with His hands, and seeing you blossom and flourish in every aspect of the work of your hands. Blessings!!! Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. The word picture behind "all the days" is "to work, making secure support".
In Hebrew work and worship are exactly the same. Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. When our work is the expression of our unique God given purpose it becomes pure worship. When our work is an expression of our unique God given purpose it creates security and support for everyone around us. May you be the best version of you all the days of your life. Blessings!!! |
