Psalm 9:14 That I may tell of all Your praise In the gates of the daughter of Zion. I will rejoice in Your salvation. The word picture meaning for the word gates is: " to see the Prince, or to see the one who devours the obstacles."
Isaiah tells us that Yeshua is the Prince of Peace: Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Psalm 9:14 occurs within the gates where we see the one (Prince of Peace) who devours the obstacles. What are the obstacles? The answer is found in the word picture meaning for peace: "to destroy the authority that establishes chaos." Whoever or whatever is establishing chaos in your life is going to be devoured by the Prince of Peace!!! But the fact is that a gate cannot function unless it is built into a fence or a wall. Isaiah 60:18 Violence shall no longer be heard in your land, Neither wasting nor destruction within your borders; But you shall call your walls Salvation, And your gates Praise. As we know the Hebrew word for salvation is Yeshua, the name of our Messiah. So, we have the gates (the Prince of Peace who devours the obstacles) and the walls (Yeshua). The function of the gates and the walls is summed up in the word grace: "the fence/wall that protects life." May these thoughts lead you into praise. By the way, the word picture meaning of praise is "the authority of the covenant revealed!!!"
