Psalm 37:4 & 5 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. This last phrase "and he shall bring it to pass" represents the single Hebrew word `asah.
The word picture meaning of `asah is "the moth revealed". We have very negative thoughts about this word meaning because generally speaking "the moth revealed" manifests itself in the form of a hole eaten in our favourite item of clothing or the devastation of our garden with holes eaten in all the leaves of our plants. Unfortunately these thoughts cause us to run the risk of missing the powerful truth behind this word. `Asah is about performing an activity with a distinct purpose in mind. What distinct purpose does the moth have in mind? To feed its offspring. It is actually the larvae of the moth that eat holes in our clothing and in the leaves of our plants. The moth purposefully lays its eggs in a location that has a rich protein source that will benefit the growth and development of its offspring. Likewise the Master Potter, when he places you on His Potter's Wheel, has a distinct purpose in mind: to lift up life in you. Philippians 1:6 There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears. Blessings!!
